Conley Takes No New Taxes Pledge
Barnstable, MA…Today Susanne Conley, the co-founder of Save Greater Dowses Beach and candidate for State Representative, announced that she has signed the “No New Taxes Pledge” committing to protect taxpayers.
“Times are tough. Cape Codders are being crushed by inflation. As the next State Representative, I am going to protect people’s wallets. That’s why I have signed the ‘No New Taxes’ pledge to show my commitment to helping families, veterans, and seniors who are struggling due to high inflation,” said Conley.
The pledge states that Conley will oppose and vote against any and all efforts to increase taxes. The incumbent, Kip Diggs, has never signed the pledge and that fact is reflected in his voting record. According to Mass Fiscal Alliance, Diggs has a zero rating in voting to protect taxpayers.
“Cape Cod is a beautiful place to live, but we need to make it affordable especially for our seniors. As the next State Representative, I will do my part by working to lower our tax burden,” said Conley.
Susanne Conley is a lifelong resident of Massachusetts who cares deeply about her community and our state. She graduated from Framingham State University. She received her Master’s Degree from Brandeis University and a Doctorate from UMASS Boston. Following a 20 year career in Massachusetts public higher education, she moved to Cape Cod, where she co-founded and chairs the community group Save Greater Dowses Beach. Susanne has volunteered for Town of Barnstable committee work, has chaired a fundraiser to support breast cancer treatment on Cape Cod, and is a former member and Chair of the Board of United Way of Tri County.
